New Zealand Training Centre

Since October 2014, the New Zealand Training Centre has been running a holiday programme called ‘Stars Holiday Programme’ for children from Year 1 to Year 8. This programme is conducted during one week of the school holidays, and we run it three times a year (in April, July and October).

The trainees fully participate in carrying out the programme as part of their gospel service. This gives the trainees a wonderful opportunity to contact children and families from the community. We have had very positive ongoing feedback on this programme from families who have attended.

During the programme we impress the children with God’s wonderful creation through songs, stories and activities. We also have the children engage in fun indoor and outdoor games so they can make friends with each other easily. We provide a variety of learning experiences for the children to participate in which are: chess, art and craft, cooking, sewing, science experiments and projects, boys’ activities and crafts, and boys’ woodworking hobbies. Through these activities, the children learn important skills and interact with other children and the trainees.
